So I'm working on a project in which I go over my favorite albums from the entire decade (2000-2009) and list my Top 100 albums. Jars of Clay is going to be on that list several times. I thought it would be fun to include, with every album I list, live footage of a song from that album. But good live footage of certain bands is difficult to come by. I've scoured YouTube for good Jars clips, and what I've found has been a bit lacking. So I'm turning to you guys, the fans, to see if you've got anything good or know of anything that's been posted to the net.

Here's what I've got so far, and what I hope to find:

From The Eleventh Hour: I've got "Revolution" from the 11ive DVD. It's better quality than a fan video, but a bit cheesy. I'd love a better version of "Revolution", or, if they ever did the whole thing live, "Silence". I'm open to good versions of almost anything from this disc, though.

From Who We Are Instead: "Show You Love" from Live 8. It's OK, but doesn't really show the band in their element, among their fans. I'd kill for a great live version of "Lesser Things", "Trouble Is", "Jealous Kind", or "Amazing Grace".

From Redemption Songs: A pretty crappy quality video of "I'll Fly Away" from the Music Builds Tour. Mac Powell and Robert Randolph are in it, which is cool. Lots of tone-deaf fans are singing along, which is not so cool. I'd love a better version of this from the same tour, or else a live version of "God Will Lift Up Your Head" or, if they've ever actually performed it live, "Thou Lovely Source of True Delight".

From Good Monsters: A pretty solid live version of "Mirrors & Smoke", but it's interrupted by some cheesy message from a fan to his wife. Did they get to do this live with Leigh Nash before she left the tour? Otherwise, are there good live versions of "Dead Man", "All My Tears", or "Light Gives Heat" floating around out there?

From The Long Fall Back to Earth: I found an acoustic version of "Closer", which is pretty cool because it's an unexpected way to perform that song. I might keep this, but wouldn't mind seeing other live footage from their latest tour if it's high quality.

Hey murlough - I can get you the original full version of Mirrors and Smoke if this is the cheesy one you are referring to as I still have the original unedited one - I'm guilty of getting Jars to record a cheesy message for my wife!!!

I'll also see what others songs I have from that concert.

Yep, that's the one I stumbled across. It's a great performance, and hey, you're way more creative in the "make it up to my wife" department than I am. I'm just trying to find unedited performances where I can.

Not sure why someone posted a comment about If I Left the Zoo and then deleted it. That album came out in 1999.

I had 2 full shows on video from The 11th Hour tour but I'm pretty sure I've thrown the tapes away.  I'll look around for you.  I don't have a miniDV camera any more but if I find the tapes and you want them I'll send them your way.

The version of "Revolution" I've got is DVD quality, so unless you got a really high-quality tape of the show from those days, I'd say don't worry about it. I was mostly wondering what folks had already available online, particularly for WWAI and RS since it's been the most difficult to find footage of songs from those albums.

Hey David,

Here are some of my videos:

All my tears
Dead Man
Heaven
Forgive me
Love is the protest
Hibernation Day with Leigh Nash

There are some more in my profile, so feel free sneak through all the videos.

The DVD in the deluxe package of the LFBTE has of course better versions of Dead Man, Love is the Protest and Closer.

Jars of Clay Revealed has great performances of

Work
Closer
Dead Man
God Will Lift Up Your Head
The Valley Song (Sing Of Your Mercy)

Hope this helps.

I wouldn't know how to convert that stuff on my own. I'm mostly looking for whatever's already available digitally or that can be easily YouTubed. The videos you put up are an excellent start - I'm watching those as we speak.

Why are there songs in Jars's setlist from your stop on the Two Hands tour that weren't in ours? We didn't get "Love Is the Protest" or "Forgive Me". I feel like we really got ripped off with our setlist - there was at least one song on their list (apparently a medley of "Worlds Apart" and "All My Tears") that they didn't do, and it's not like we were outdoors and had a noise curfew.

P.S. That version of "All My Tears" is breathtaking.

Do you have a miniDV camera to playback the tapes?  I'll have to look for them as I'm not sure if I still have them or not.

I don't know why they were played at some shows and not others.  Thats just how it goes sometimes I suppose.  There Might Be A Light is the best treat that I've heard this tour.

I'm glad they DIDN'T play that one.

But it sounds like, instead of getting a shorter show than you guys got, the band just had a rotating setlist, and I actually admire that. Playing the exact same list of songs night after night must get tiring for a band, and there's plenty of material on their new album, so it's a good idea to rotate stuff and give the entire album a chance to shine in a live setting. (It's possible you guys didn't get some goodies like "Frail", I guess.)

I wonder if there are any live versions of "Hero" or "Scenic Route" floating around out there...

There Might Be A Light is so good live!  When I was talking with Charlie before the Knoxville show he said they rehearsed a new song for me so I wouldn't see the same show   If they did it specifically for me I don't know but it was really great to hear it.  All 3 shows that I saw in April/June were basically the same except for; There Might Be A Light, Forgive Me, Hero (that was shuffled around in the setlist but played every night), and All My Tears.

I'm looking forward to the show in December as I assume it's a Christmas show!

Hey, I am confused, you were talking to me here right? I don't know, I thought the setlist in Cincinnati was pretty amazing! I was so excited all the time and recording at the same time. Yeah that version of All my tears was awesome.

Anyway, did you go to one of the first concerts of the tour, or to one nearing the end of the tour? I know that Jake could not play some songs at first, then as the time passed and Jake learnt more songs, they added more songs to the setlist.

I had Frail too ^^ this is one of the songs I recorded too.

I will never forgive myself for having not recorded "Hero" in Excelsior Springs, it was so well performed, I was so proud of the band ^^

I've got a few videos, nothing spectacular, but if you find something you like, you may use it.

All My Tears
Heaven
Hero
