Reply with quote | #1 | Lately, I've been in the mood to collect Jars stuff. I picked up the Much Afraid LP, and am looking for other things to go after, such as posters and stuff.
The question is, what is your most prized Jars item? Perhaps an autographed picture, recording, please share your story.

Reply with quote | #9 | Cheesy as it is, I value the memories of shows and talking to the band the most. Lots of great times.
As far as physical things go, the Much Afraid vinyl is nice. __________________ |

My poster that I made for them when I saw them at the music builds tour last year. They signed it and Matt personally apologized to me for them not playing the song I had written on the poster. It was "Light Gives Heat" Dan drew the original Jars jar on it for me. It's been hanging on my wall for over a year now, and it's not coming down. __________________ "We are people borne of sound. Reply with quote | #13 | I'm not sure how I forgot about this, but I just remembered that somewhere I have a guitar signed by the band. The guitar itself is a piece of junk, but hey - autographed! __________________ |

Reply with quote | #15 | But maybe one of the more special items I have is the promotional CD with Jars of Clay covering the John Denver song Please Daddy, Don't Get Drunk This Christmas. This is quite rare, especially since the song hasn't been released any other way. __________________ Never perfect, but perfectly forgiven |

When I bought the Come On Over 2 CD, they had some kind of DVD offer. You could buy a DVD with only two episodes (one with Jars, the other with Steve Mason) for only $5. That's the one I have. It's a DVD without any artwork (just a label on the DVD - see picture on my site), with just these two episodes titled 'Making Music' & 'Storytelling'. __________________ Never perfect, but perfectly forgiven |

my most treasured Jars thing would be the Much Afraid promo "shoe box". It's like a shoe box that has the M/A cover art printed on it. Inside was the M/A album, stickers, VHS of Crazy Times video, and a clock with the M/A covert art as the clock face. The clock is on my fridge right now The box is what I keep my other Jars rarities in too. |

I have it too, but my dvd did not come with the 'Storytelling' ep., which is the one with the Merman Steve and logically why I am not finding it =/

I bought Steve's acoustic guitar from him a couple of years back. It is a '96 Taylor 420-PF and it was his #1 acoustic guitar from Much Afraid through Good Monsters. He signed it and wrote "My Steady 1996 - 2006" next to his signature. He plays the guitar on the "11 Live" Dvd when he is standing next to Dan and they perform "Worlds Apart" or in the "This Road" video. I am humbled to own the guitar that many of my favorite songs were written and recorded on. As I am a musician and guitar player myself -- it doesn't get much better! See Steve (in his baldie days) playing the guitar in the photo below: " target=_blank target=_blank>
