hey guys. whats up. it's TonyH here. I drop in unexpectedly from time to time.  Some of you may remember me

Anyways. For those who do know me. My band Barefoot is doing very well. We are working w/ a producer right now named Bret Alexander on our very first LP. Bret played in the band The Badlees, popular band back in the 90's when the Jars boys were having their hit with flood. You may remember their hits Fear of Falling or Angeline is Coming Home. If not...you would most def. remember if you went to amazon and played a clip of either. One of those..."oh yeah those guys" band.

In any case...we're all very excited. God's doing awesome things for us...especially in the communities which we live that do not no Him. Which brings me finally to the point of this post.

By hooking up w/ Bret and the Badlees, we've connected with a great crowd that has a lot of pull in the area.

We all at Barefoot are putting together a benefit for Blood:Water (the 1000 wells project) in July. We are going to try to get the entire city of Wilkes-Barre, PA (and Scranton PA) involved in it. We have great ties with all the newspapers and radio stations because of Barefoot and we are going to go after corporate donations as well.

So I want to ask everyone to keep this in their prayers as it is a lot of work for us, especially since we are right in the thick of production on the album. We are expecting to raise a few thousand dollars. My goal is over 10G. We are trusting in God to provide.

Thanks for reading everyone. I am very sorry I can't be as much a part of the boards as I used to be...but i do browse often. Free time is few and far between!

Take care guys. Your prayers will be much appreciated!

hey guys. thanks for the replies. i too have missed this place. hopefully soon i'll be back around on a more consistent basis.

the benefit is in stage 1 right now. this week i will be sitting down and picking a date. it will most likely be at the end of july/early august.

so far i have 5 artists interested. and these guys aren't just any artists...they are some of the biggest local guys in Northeast PA.

I will be continually updating all the new info and news right here.

It's going to be an amazing benefit. I'm hoping to bring the whole community together.

Hey Tony,

I've been a huge fan of the Badlees for years ... I started going to their shows about 10 years ago or so.  I'm glad you're working with Bret -- I've always thought he was an amazing musician and a really nice guy.  I live near Hershey -- if your band ever plays near Harrisburg, I'll try to make it to a show.

Jars of Clay has been my favorite band (hands-down) since 1995, but the Badlees are definitely my favorite local act.

Good luck with your benefit -- I'm definitely interested in being there.  Maybe you could get the Badlees (or pieces of them) on board ... or maybe Darcie Miner.

good to hear from you fade. the badlees are amazing. but more importantly, bret alexander is amazing. he has an incredible ear for music and is helping strengthen our tunes into something that is top-notch.

and guess what. bret is signed on for the show. he's going to be doing his solo stuff.

the lineup so far is looking like this:

Bret Alexander
Six Second Yellow
Jared Campbell
Barefoot
Plus 3

The venue looks like it's going to be The Waterfront Bar and Grille in Plains, PA. The good news is...sound is provided...from the best sound company in Northeast PA (rock st. music) The bad news is...it's a 21+ venue. However, we play there all the time and they love what we do and are working with us to possibly take care of a bulk of the advertising...sound...etc. So that will def help out as far as money is concerned.

I'll have a date in a few days.

Peace everyone.

The line-up looks great -- I sure hope I can make it!  Good luck with the rest of the planning .. it sounds like a lot work, but hopefully will all be worth it in the end!
