I heard about The Long Fall Back To Earth Re-Issue from the Stage-It as well.  This is really exciting.  I really feel that TLFBTE never got its full day in the sun.  Does anyone know the reason for the re-issue?  Does the band feel like the album never got a proper release the first time around?  Nevertheless, I'm excited to hear the unreleased music and to get my hands on the new vinyl and CD with new artwork, etc.  I'm all in.

I cannot say how excited I am. TLFBTE is my favourite album of all time!

I love TLFBTE as well. Not sure of the reason for the re-issue, but was excited to hear this too!

Wasn't the release supposed to be March for this?

It is almost March but no official word of the re-release outside of the Stage-it.

Anybody have info?

Last post in February...what?!?

The band confirmed at one of the recent StageIt concerts that things are progressing slowly. I'm sure part of it is the snail-like pace of vinyl production these days, but the band hasn't given up on the project. In the meantime...no news is good news?

Can't wait. I hope it'll be available here in the Philippines as well. TLFBTE was exactly released on my 30th birthday last 2009 and it has been my favorite. I hope they include the deluxe edition bonus songs.

I totally forgot about it.  I'll preorder it whenever they tweet something about it.

Does anyone have an idea of a release date for this? Was there anything mentioned at the last stageit?

I did promotions for this album tour. Had to hand out free download cards on Halloween at a concert in springfield wearing the black/hot pink LFBTE TSHIRT.

If you do a search on Amazon.com or iTunes Store, you can't even find the existing version of TLFBTE for purchase. The band took it down in anticipation of the deluxe re-release. The pre-sale for the re-release starts on 16 October.

I'm curious to hear the details on this. I'm assuming we'll find out on the 16th? I believe there were 4 remixes from this album and 3 released b-sides. Apparently with the deluxe edition there will be 3 new songs and 3 remixes. I hope it's all new-new!

Weird. I wonder what compelled then do release this when there was already a deluxe edition with the same tracks. I was excited because it seemed like there was something more with that album that they needed to get to the fans.

Ah well. It's great for anyone that didn't pick it up the first time.

It's a CD/DVD set.  But I thought they were releasing vinyl?

I wouldn't count this out just yet. They haven't made an announcement that it isn't happening, so until we hear otherwise my assumption is that we'll see one at some point.

Personally, I'm ok with the CD/DVD being available to a wider audience. I'm happy to get another copy because it means I don't have to baby my bonus discs from the box set anymore.

Whoever has a copy of this, can you let me know exactly what it included on the DVD?

Thanks!

I haven't decided whether to purchase the download from amazon or get the cd/dvd.  The dvd sounds nice, but I can't imagine I would watch it more than once.

I've got ya covered, Steve! My guess is that it's a clone of the original DVD they released with the box set. So far I haven't seen any new content rolled out via their Youtube channel.

Anybody else gotten this release? My copy is horrible quality. The discs appear to be homemade burned copies. The labels are low quality inkjet printed that I can easily scratch off with my fingernail The DVD plays well but my CD skips and seems to be missing track 20. I can understand them trying to save money on production costs but I'm surprised at the sub par quality of the copy I got. Did anyone else experience this?

Sorry about the shoddy quality.  Where did you buy it from?  I usually get the physical copy, but I went digital this time, in case in the future it comes out on vinyl.

I preordered it straight from their web store. No third party here. I emailed the web store hoping for some kind of explanation.

Hmm.  I know amazon generally has a great return policy.  Hopefully you have no problems and that the other discs aren't like that.

The discs are indeed burned discs, likely due to the band working with a short-run manufacturer. I don't know who they worked with, but it seems fairly consistent with the likes of DiscMakers (a manufacturer I've worked with for my own band).

It's a double-edged sword. I'm happy for the deluxe release, but I suppose we can't expect the same quality from when they were selling millions of albums. I'm genuinely curious as to how many people bought the deluxe CD. Maybe the pre-order numbers affected the type of production?

I got my disc in the mail directly from the Jars store.  The packaging looks great.  I did notice that the flipside of the discs are blue, making me think these were burned as well.  I'm not sure what the situation is, but my quality of sound doesn't seem to be compromised necessarily.  However I haven't listened to it very closely compared to the original LFBTE release.  As far as the "missing Track 20" goes, look inside the CD sleeve a little closer, there is a little piece of card stock with a code for a free download of the Heart Remix.

Well, it's coming to vinyl now.  I wish I would've known about this before I got the deluxe mp3, but that's the chance you take.

They need to sell about 65 more preorders before January 14th to be able to get the vinyl copies made.

Does anyone know when we will be getting the vinyl?  I thought they said July 2016?  I haven't received any notices or emails and haven't read any updates anywhere.

We approved the vinyl proofs a couple weeks ago, but vinyl pressing is very backed up, with the popular resurgence and the small number of machines that actually make them. So it will indeed be a couple more months, unfortunately! (But it sounds great!)

So...the official word is "eventually," ha [smile]
