They're actually going to perform at my school with The Classic Crime in a few days!

I don't know if anyone currently present on this forum listens to these guys, but they just put out a new album. And it is FANTASTIC.

They've been one of my favorite bands for several years now. The End Is Not the End is one of my favorite albums of all time. I'm really starting to groove on their new one, too. Listened to it a few weeks back during a drive up to the Hoh Rainforest in Washington state. (Get it? Hoh?)

This new album is very good, and may be their best from a musical standpoint. But to me, a feeling's missing that's been on their previous two albums. TEINTE and Suburbia both had quite a bit of character and personality that this album just doesn't seem to have.

The last two albums were more or less concept albums; this one has some loose themes but for the most part is just a collection of songs. That might be why the personality isn't coming through as strong. I'd still put this one ahead of Say No More.

Yeah, I understand that. But still, I think they have it in them to make a non-concept album still have that sense of personality. All-in-all it's a good album, but for me personally, it's not my favorite because of this fact. But it's fine. Completely enjoyable nonetheless.

I love these guys.  They are in my small handful of 5 bands or so that I follow closely and buy pretty much all the stuff I can get a hold of.

So, have you heard their odds and ends collection The Knock Down Drag Outs? I'm wondering if it's worthwhile. I like the band a lot, but I'm not sure if it's enough that I'd enjoy all of their random covers and rejected album tracks.

I have it, but I'm a fan of b-sides and all that (of my favorite bands, anyway).  The Beatles covers are fun if you don't have them already, and even some of their throw away songs aren't bad.  Not their best obviously, but worth having, IMO.  It's 7.99 for 19 tracks on amazon.com mp3.  Worth it, to me.

I've heard the Acoustic End and Meets the Beatles EPs; I enjoyed them, but not enough to buy them.

How are the brand new songs and the remixes?
