I think TLFBTE has heaps of potential singles on it - Heaven, Safe to Land, Weapons, Don't Stop, Hero - all of those would make great singles. Closer should have been pushed more as well, I think. It's a fantastic song.

While there are many accessible pop songs on this record, I don't see too many of them faring well in Christian radio. Closer is a great example - it's an amazingly catchy and well-written song, but it doesn't directly mention God or have an over-the-top soaring string section (see: Casting Crowns, Jeremy Camp, et al).

Kinda like what this review is saying ... which I totally disagree with BTW and believe his attitude is exactly the problem with CCM and Christian radio in general - very little consideration given to the art itself and too much emphasis on counting how many times 'Jesus' is mentioned.

The way the industry forces artists into such a narrow format is depressing. I mean, Jars manages to sell 500,000+ copies of The Eleventh Hour and there isn't a single direct Jesus reference in sight. Someone is buying them.

sombody commented on jars' facebook page and said that they were disappointed with the album and accused them of not being saved because of their songs on this record. they also said that they were very surprised that it was in the christian music section, when this person thought it shouldnt be...

i personally dont like when people get this way.... i mean, do u have to say jesus repetatively to make a good song?

This is the one problem, they are not concerned about songs being good or bad, kill the art, say whatever they want to hear, easily and readily.
