Dan, if you see this, don't feel obligated to reply. Hopefully someone else can help me out. You post a lot here and I'm sure you're extremely busy as usual. You're really good about answering questions when you don't really have to.
Anyway, I'm thinking about just donating my tax return since it's just a big chunk of bonus money that I really don't need and wasn't really counting on getting. Plus I've just wanted to start being more generous with my money in general. I went on the website to see how to donate and tried donating online and I got an error message. Does anyone know if that works (yet?) or will soon? Donating through mail is no problem, though. And what's the deal with tax write-off's and donating? This is my first post-college year having a real career job and being on my own so I have no experience with that sort of thing. Do you basically get the tax that you paid on that money back on the next tax return? And if so, do we need to get some sort of documentation for donations? And is there more urgency to donate to the 1000 Wells or the general BW Mission? I'm not quite sure which to donate to. If someone that's an expert on this could help me out, that'd be great. Thanks in advance.

Hey, I wouldn't call myself an expert, but just wanted to share my experience...
I was able to donate through the BW site, actually just within the past week or so... So maybe try again? I also felt that it was important at this point to donate specifically to 1000wells since that is what they are striving for right now, but I am sure your donation to just BWM as a whole would be appreciated as well. Hope that helped a little bit..... Lauren

Most places I try to donate to online here require credit cards. I do not fool with credit cards.

I don't believe in credit cards either. In proverbs it states that the "borrower is slave to the lender" tells me that God Doesn't like them either. Of course, someone is gonna come along and say they are all right....you know, the one who follows me all over the board

You know...as far as credit cards go, you could always seek out the alternative of a bank card. It's your money, just like writing a check or pulling out cash, only you can use the card at places that are credit-card friendly, such as many places online. Not a new concept by any means, but perhaps worth looking into if you've got problems with credit cards (or just don't have one, like me!). just an idea...

We got a nice tax return as well and as a tithe of it we are
spreading it to various causes we are passionate about. I am going to send some to BWM as well... Jeff
