Hey all, I just got engaged and my fiance and I are planning a May '08 wedding. I came up with ideas for the wedding favors last night: a little bucket with a ribbon on it with our names and the date on it, and a tag that says a donation has been made to the Blood:Water Mission in their name. (Get it? Bucket, water? ) What do you all think? Good idea? We're looking at close to 200 guests, so I figure it'll be a nice-sized donation...B:M is super-close to my heart, and I want to help out any way I can.

I think it's adorable! And since you'll have B:W written on the tag, maybe that will spark curiosity in some of your guests and they'll make a contribution on their own.

Thanks! Yeah, on the tag I'm going to feature the website so the folks can go straight there for the information.

First of all, congratulations. Second of all, I think this is a really interesting idea. While it seems like an unusual place to show that sort of activism, I don't think that it's a bad thing at all. If you do this, I'd love to see a picture of how they turn out.

There have actually been a number of couples that have supported BWM through their weddings . . . some of them have "registered" for a well in lieu of gifts from friends and family. I think this is a cool idea and I love the thought of using teeny little buckets.
